Asahi replies to the cyber attack by returning to work with paper and pen
Published on October 7, 2025
Last week a hacker attack paralyzed Asahi, but the world does not admit breaks. The solution is romantic and nostalgic.
House Asahi is bogged down. The stick in the wheels is virtual in nature, a hacker attack that caused the interruption of production in most of the plants distracted on the Japanese land.Result: disassembled supply chain, Japan who risks staying with thirst.
This, however, is an old (relatively) news. The cyber attack above is dated 29 September - a century ago!-, and the world moves quickly.Ergo: it's up to putting a piece, even if - explains the same company - "Currently there is no timing to restore" the system of orders, shipments and call center services. So what do you do?
Asahi's answer to Hacker attack
There is irony in this story - bitter, as is obvious, very loving: but in fact there is.In a report published last year, the Brassicolo giant had identified a computer attack as one of the major medium-term-term company risks, providing that such an event could have caused interruptions of the activity, creating liquidity problems and damaging the brand. In technical jargon: I was guphada.
The shelves remain empty, the dry gorges.Family-Mart, one of Japan's greatest minimarkets, told consumers that they "be in collaboration with Asahi to resume the sale of products", but since the brewery has temporarily suspended new orders and shipments, at the moment there is no "any recovery perspective".Excuse messages are wasted, and in this climate there are those who try with traditional solutions.
Card and pen is therefore. The sectors of catering, hospitality and organized large distribution do not know the meaning of the word pause: the gears must move, and it doesn't matter if slowly. The ASAHI staff - read on Reuters - has taken to visit their customers with a notebook in person, taking note of the hand orders.Nostalgic, Rome, effective.
From the upper floors, words of reassurance arrive - we will give propility to the outgoing shipments and we are elaborating the orders (handwritten, precisely).Numbers in hand, Japan represents about half of the total sales of the brewery: we hope there is no one with a bad calligraphy.
