Windows fails allow hacker to access your PC with any face

Published on September 8, 2025

Ernw cybersecurity researchers have revealed a new technique used by hackers to access victims' computer - it's a critical failure on Windows Hello, a login login tool that allows you to use the scammer's own face to enter. Vulnerability arose less than two months after the revelation of a problem with face swap, where a less exquisite technique also allowed cybercriminals to access the Windows users PC.The same company reported the case in July this year. A biometric model is a kind of digital face representation, created by the computer when registering the user's face or digital. This is what the system uses to identify these elements when we try to access the machine using recognition tools such as Windows Hello. Cybercriminals then decrypt and extract the model from their face and then inject this model into the victim's biometrics database into the target computer. This allows hackers to pass the user using their own face, something much more complex than the face swap technique. In the previous attack, scammers exchanged identifiers - tags that identify the models - between two user accounts already registered in the same device to allow the invasion.Remember that for everything to work, the hacker first needs administrator permissions, acquired through the use of malware and phishing, for example. To avoid the blow, follow the usual tips: Be wary of award -winning or urgent messages and use authentication for two factors or more.
